Milling and Resurfacing on Route 480 in Cornwall

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 480 in Cornwall. This project is scheduled to occur on Friday, May 22 and be completed on Tuesday, June 1, 2026. The project 0174-0488CN “E” consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.77-mile segment of Route 480 in Cornwall from Great Hollow Road #2 to Route 4. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Black and Boucher on Friday, May 22, 2026 and will be completed same day. The resurfacing segment of this project by O&G Industries is anticipated to begin on Monday, June 1, 2026 and will be completed on the same day.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect road closures of Route 480 from Great Hollow Road #2 to Route 4 in Cornwall. Traffic control personnel and detour will guide motorists. Local traffic can use Essex Hil Road to Valley Road to Jewell Street to Route 4. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
