Housatonic River Commission “Meet the Commissioners” – Housatonic Meadows State Park
The Housatonic River Commission invites our neighbors along the Housatonic River to an open house on Sunday, October 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will be held at the Day Use Area of Housatonic Meadows State Park. Come meet the commissioners who represent your town, learn more about the Housatonic River Commission, and find out what the river’s Wild & Scenic designation means for communities along the Housatonic. The event will include an open question-and-answer session at 2 p.m.
Bring a chair and enjoy an ice cream with us!
The Housatonic River Commission works with riverside communities to help protect and enhance the river’s values while supporting public understanding of the river and its designation. The Commission comprises representatives from seven towns along the Housatonic: Kent, Cornwall, Canaan, North Canaan, Salisbury, New Milford, and Sharon. The event is designed to be casual and welcoming. Residents can stop by, meet their commissioners, ask questions, and learn more about our river.
