Declaration of Emergency

Declaration of Emergency – February 2026

Declaration of Emergency – February 2026 signed by First Selectmen Gordon Ridgway.

Due to the severe weather conditions predicted to affect the State and the Town of Cornwall, which include a powerful nor’easter with heavy snow expected, total snow accumulations between 10 and 20 inches, winds gusting as high as 45 mph will lead to widespread blowing snow and near blizzard conditions at times, I am hereby proclaiming a state of emergency, pursuant to Connecticut General Statues Section 28-22a(a).

This Declaration of Emergency may include travel bans and road closures.

Please be reminded that there is already a parking ban in place.

We are asking that people stay off of the roads until they are clear. Stay at home and stay safe. Please prepare now to shelter in place for an extended period, power outages are possible with this storm.
