…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING…

WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

WHERE…Portions of northwestern Connecticut, including the following areas, Northern Litchfield and Southern Litchfield and east central New York, including the following areas, Eastern Dutchess, Eastern Ulster, Western Dutchess and Western Ulster.

WHEN…Through Friday morning.

IMPACTS…Excessive runoff from heavy rain may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Widespread rainfall this afternoon into tonight with periods of heavy rain including rainfall rates up to 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. Total rainfall amounts between 1.50 and 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts up to 3 to 4 inches should heavy rain persist over a given area. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
