Join Run 169 Towns Society!

We were thankful for the fantastic turnout of the Run 169 Towns Society at Saturday’s 12th Annual Run & Wag 5k, which supported the Little Guild. Here is more information about their organization and mission.

About Run 169 Towns Society

• Mission: help runners complete a race in every Connecticut town while building community and welcoming all paces, including walkers.

• What counts for town credit: the race is at least one mile, open to the public and advertised, and the results are official and posted publicly. Self timed and treadmill events do not count. Hand timed events can count when verified by the race director and posted.

• Event types: road and trail events indoors or outdoors are welcome. Multisport events can qualify when the running portion meets the rules. Relay credit is based on where the race starts.

• Culture: members follow a simple code of conduct that keeps the group welcoming and respectful, and we rely on the honor system.

• Operations: our website, database, and social pages are run by volunteers. Membership is free.

Our community has grown to more than 5,600 members from across the state. We currently have members from all 169 towns except Cornwall. We would love to connect with your residents so we can finally say the Society includes every town in Connecticut.

Our members do more than run. When they visit a town, they support local businesses by stopping at shops, coffee places, bakeries, and wineries. It is free to join our group, and all are welcome regardless of pace or experience.
