11/27/2024 Update

The State of Connecticut has ended the Emergency Burn Ban as of 11/26/2024. As of 11/27/2024, the Town of Cornwall has cancelled the Emergency Burn Ban for the Town of Cornwall outdoor burning. Please use caution when burning outdoors. To burn brush, a burn permit is still required.

11/19/2024 Update

The Forest Fire Danger level is EXTREME today, to check the daily danger report click here. The Emergency Burn Ban for the State of Connecticut, issued by Governor Lamont, and the Open Burn Ban for the Town of Cornwall, issued by First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, are both still in effect. Additionally, a Stage 2 Drought Advisory was declared for all of Connecticut, click here for more information.  Thank you to all for your cooperation to help reduce the risk of fire outbreaks in our community.

There is currently a large brush fire near the fairgrounds in Great Barrington, with many reports of smoke being seen in our region, click here for more information.
