Aid to Asheville

Hello Cornwall,

At the October 15, 2024 Board of Selectmen meeting, the Board voted to create a fund to Aid Asheville at the suggestion of Will Berry the Transfer Station fame, with an initial donation of $1,000 from the Can and Bottle Fund. Will and his family lived in Asheville before moving to Cornwall. They know of many families who have been severely impacted by the flooding of Storm Helene. Ted Larson and David Williamson are taking a pickup truck of requested supplies to Asheville this weekend. Anyone who is interested in donating funds or supplies can drop off or mail a check payable to the Town of Cornwall with “Aid to Asheville” in the memo.

Mailing Address:

Town of Cornwall, Finance Office, PO Box 97, Cornwall CT 06753

Drop off location:

Cornwall Town Hall, 24 Pine Street Cornwall

Transfer Station, 24 Furnace Brook Road

Additionally, a PayPal account has been set up and donations can be made by clicking here. All proceeds are being sent to the organization Beloved Asheville, more information on the organization can be found here. Stay tuned for more updates on this or for more ways we, as a community, can help Asheville, NC.

Sincerely,
Gordon M. Ridgway
