November 8, 2022 State Election

The Electors of the Town of Cornwall are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling places in said town on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 for the following purposes:

    1. To cast their votes for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, United States Senator, Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Representative, Secretary of the State, Treasurer, Comptroller, Attorney General, Judge of Probate and Registrar of Voters.
    2. To vote on the following question for the approval or disapproval of a proposed AMENDMENT to the Constitution of Connecticut, a vote of “YES” being a vote for approval, and a vote of “NO” being a vote for disapproval:
  1. Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting?
    Debe enmendarse la Constitucion del Estado para que la Asamblea
    General pueda facilitar el voto anticipado?

The full text of such proposed question with explanatory text, printed in accordance with Section 2-30a of the General Statutes, is available at the town clerk’s office for public distribution.

The vote on the proposed questions is taken pursuant to the Constitution of Connecticut.

Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling place is as follows:

Town Hall, 24 Pine St., Cornwall, CT.

Voting tabulators will be used.  The polls will be open at six o’clock in the morning (6:00 a.m.) and will remain open until eight o’clock in the evening (8:00 p.m.).

Election Day Registration will be held at 24 Pine Street, in the south wing.

Absentee ballot counting will be conducted at the polls.

Absentee ballot applications are available from the town clerk. Office hours: Monday to Thursday from 9 A.M. to noon and 1 to 4 P.M. by appointment. Call 672-2709 or email townclerk@cornwallct.gov.

The secure ballot drop box is now unlocked. Applications and completed ballots can be deposited into the drop box 24 hours a day or can be mailed.
 
Absentee ballots are available in person from the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday to Thursday from 9 A.M. to noon and 1 to 4 P.M.
