Weekend of Discovery

Expect an actioned packed holiday weekend in Cornwall starting with farmers markets on Saturday morning. It should be some good damp weather for the Cornwall Conservation Trust’s Annual Mushroom Walk to get some local perspective on all things fungi. Also on Saturday Local author, Mark Scarbrough will be launching his new book via zoom.

The esteemed Housatonic Camera Club will be holding an opening reception on Sunday at the UCC Parish house. Also on the calendar for Sunday is the weekly Black Lives Matter Vigil on the Cornwall Bridge Green. Sunday culminates with the Great Cornwall Apple Bake Off Benefitting the Cornwall Food Pantry! Join award-winning food editor/stylist Stephana Bottom as she moderates three all-star Cornwall master bakers in a Zoom bake-off of their best apple recipes. Celebrated culinary wizards Susie Lily Ott, Susan Saccardi, and Frances Boswell will surprise, delight, and educate a hungry Cornwall audience. Finally, a zoom lecture titled Torrington Revealed with the Torrington Historical Society where the origins of the towns of Cornwall and Torrington will be compared and contrasted prior to delving into Torrington‘s development as a small city.

There are only a couple more days left to register for next week’s Run & Wag 5k, which benefits the Little Guild, so register today!
