Studio talk: Carl D’Alvia – Library

July 25 @ 5:00 pm EDT

July 25 at 5pm: This unique event will be a conversation between Carl D’Alvia and Dina Shaulov-Wright about D’Alvia’s process of working from his drawings to his sculptures. We will have a rare opportunity to look inside D’Alvia’s studio where these works are created and sit together as inspiration. Space is very limited. A reception will follow the talk. Registration is required.

Carl D’Alvia is an artist based in West Cornwall, CT. He is a graduate from Rhode Island School of Design, a Rome Prize winner, and is represented by Hesse Flatow Gallery in NYC where, amongst other places, he has had numerous shows. He is best known for his resin, bronze and marble sculptures that range from the abstract and the geometric to the figurative and anthropomorphic. He recently exhibited five of his post-pop sculptures in various locations in NYC in a show called Broadway Hubbub. Currently he has three sculptures on display at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT., and a show of large outdoor works called (mono)LITHS at the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, VT.

Dina Wright has over two decades of experience in the art world, working with galleries, non-profits, artists, and private collections. She has held roles in exhibition planning, sales, and operations at leading galleries including David Zwirner and Skarstedt Gallery.
