Earth Day Celebration with Grumbling Gryphons

April 27 @ 3:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Celebrate Earth Day on April 27th on  Saturday afternoon at Cornwall Town Hall with Grumbling Gryphons actors, musicians and visual artists.  At 3:00 P. M. join a drama, music & endangered species puppet making workshop that will culminate in a 5:00 pm spectacular Earth Day Pageant on the Town  Green with live music provided by Berkshire Resilience Brass Band and Jane Prentice on fiddle. Ellen Moon will be featured in her larger than life Golden Lady Puppet.  A gigantic oil spill costume will be featured along with Trash Creatures,  Whales, Rainbows, and more!  A potluck dinner to follow at 5:30 in Cornwall Town Hall. (Rain or shine! the parade and festivities will be held inside Town Hall if it rains).

Children who participate in the workshop will perform at 6:30 at The Cornwall Library as a kick off to the evening events, including the 7 pm premiere screening of Grumbling Gryphons environmental movie- “Count Ampula and The Carbon Curse”, filmed in Cornwall. This film features Cornwall children and Grumbling Gryphons actors.  Note:  The afternoon events are made possible  thanks to a FY24 Artist Respond Grant awarded by the COA,  DECD and the NEA to artist Leslie Elias to further Youth Empowerment  & foster Community Engagement and Environmental Stewardship through the Arts.
