Primaries of both the Republican and Democratic Parties will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. The Democratic Primary will be for the nominations of Secretary of the State and Treasurer. The Republican Primary will be for the nominations of U.S. Senator and Secretary of the State. Only registered Democrats and Republicans are eligible to vote in primaries. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at the Cornwall Town Hall, 24 Pine Street. Absentee ballot applications are available on the website under “forms” or by contacting the Town Clerk at townclerk@cornwallct.gov or by calling (860) 672-2709. The secure ballot drop box is now unlocked. Applications and completed ballots can be deposited into the drop box 24 hours a day or can be mailed. Absentee ballots are available in person from the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday through Thursday from 9 – noon and 1 – 4.
