WebsiteOur mission is to foster a sense of community and shared values; provide a forum for and encourage the discussion of key issues and developments and preserve Cornwall’s historic and rural character consistent with the economic needs of the town and its people.
WebsiteIn 2003, a handful of Cornwallians got together and decided to create our own community endowment, the Cornwall Foundation. Throughout our brief history, we have worked hard to balance the twin missions of a community foundation: supporting the efforts of the town’s charities and institutions while building an endowment to meet the needs and opportunities of the future.
WebsiteThe Cornwall Child Center is a privately funded, nonprofit educational organization which was founded in 1974 to serve the youngest members of the Cornwall community and its surrounding neighbors. It is fully licensed by Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood and holds accreditation from NAEYC (National Association for Education of Young Children). Our mission is to provide the best possible early childhood program offering a stimulating environment responsive to children’s natural curiosity, creativity, and desire to learn. The Child Center fosters social skills in a friendly, family atmosphere, and encourages the involvement of parents, community, and the school.
WebsiteThe Chronicle is a monthly, non-partisan, nonprofit community newspaper produced almost entirely by volunteers and funded by voluntary contributions from the public. Its mission is “the lessening of community misunderstandings and tensions” and “to increase the interest and understanding” of local government an civic affairs.
The Cornwall Chronicle was founded in 1991 by Tom Bevans, aided and abetted by his wife Margaret.
A print edition of the Chronicle is distributed free to 1,100 Cornwall residents plus 275 out of town subscribers. The paper has a no-advertising policy, and all the revenues of the not-for-profit publication are provided by donations from readers.
WebsiteWe are an advisory commission whose mission is to promote activities and support regulations that encourage conservation of Cornwall’s natural resources and do so with the consensus of the citizens of Cornwall. We seek to serve as a voice for the natural world of Cornwall by promoting the health and preservation of its ecosystems. The commission reaches out to its citizens through education, publications, activities, presentations and regular commission meetings.

Beers Charitable Trust, also known as Housatonic Valley Institute (HVI) was established in 1925 and has been quietly assisting Cornwall residents achieve their higher education goals for the past century.
