01/17/2022 12 PM – Cornwall faired Izzy pretty well with a few inches of very slushy snow and rain. There were also some strong wind gusts overnight.
01/16/2022 9 AM – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from SUN 10:00 PM until MON 10:00 PM. Heavy snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible. Also, winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
A major winter storm is hammering the South with snow, ice, and wind and will turn its attention to the Northeast this holiday weekend. Named Winter Storm Izzy, this sprawling storm will likely produce major travel headaches and snow/ice for Northwest Connecticut.
