The West Cornwall Covered bridge was closed this morning due to a traffic incident that occurred. Repairs were made and the bridge is back open.
Timeline:
9:15 AM – Incident Occurred
9:18 AM – CSP, First responders, and Cornwall Fire were dispatched
10:30 AM – Scene was turned over to State DOT to access the damage
11:30 AM – State DOT hopes to open the Bridge later this afternoon, please drive safely.
2:00 PM – Initial repairs were made and the bridge is back open!
7/22: Repair to the covered bridge is expected to begin at the end of next week and will take several days to complete. The tentative dates for the repair work are July 27-29th.
