VACCINE Group 1B
Hello Neighbors,
Vaccinations for Covid19 in our area have started. The 1B group appointments are starting to become available through the State portal https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/COVID-19-Vaccination—75-and-older & https://dphsubmissions.ct.gov/OnlineVaccine The 1B group includes essential workers and people 65 and over. The State is prioritizing people age 75 and over to enroll for the next week. The 1B group is large and patience is requested. Residents canaccess vaccination appointments through the State websites listed above. The State is also hopeful to get an assistance line open at 211 tomorrow. Also, Seniors can call Park & Rec Director Jen Markow at 860-480-0600 if they have questions regarding how to sign-up for a vaccination.
Connecticut is still seeing an increase in Covid cases. The new more contagious strain is also here now. So even with vaccines arriving residents have to continue to wear masks and socially distance. The Covid virus is in Cornwall and we are all on the frontlines to contain the virus.
Our Community support for the Food & Fuel Fund remains strong. It has been reported that a vehicle line in Southern Connecticut for food distribution stretched for several miles indicating the importance of food security. Thanks for your support. It makes a huge difference.
