Burns Night: Happy Birthday Robbie Burns:  Come celebrate the birthday of the beloved Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns with the Friends of the Library. Listen to the words and ballads of Burns, whose works focus on the universal themes of nature and love, and if you have a favorite poem or ballad, come prepared to recite or sing it. To celebrate his 264th birthday (which falls on the preceding Wednesday this year) there will be some tasty homemade haggis, shortbread and a wee dram or two of Burns’ and Scotland’s preferred beverage. And, with any luck, pipes! What would a celebration of Burns be without pipes!
