DESCRIPTION:** NOTE: This event has been rescheduled to Sunday\, October 2 due to the rainy weather forecast. \nHike through Connecticut’s newest forever-wild landscape with Northeast Wilderness Trust (NEWT). Over the course of 2 miles (round-trip)\, we’ll walk through Red Mountain Preserve and Dobbs Preserve\, and enjoy beautiful views at bald overlook in Greyledge Preserve. Encompassing 375 acres\, these wildlands are owned by CCT and are further protected by a forever-wild conservation easement by NEWT. Learn how this wilderness area is safeguarding biodiversity\, sequestering carbon\, and growing into an ancient forest of tomorrow—thanks to the power of partnership. \nOur hike is steep and rocky\, and gains about 600 feet in elevation. Park at the kiosk on Johnson Road\, off of Cornwall Hollow Road (Route 43). Please leave pets at home. \nRegistration is required at CornwallConservationTrust.org.
