Run time: 42 minutes \nSynopsis: Now in his nineties\, the kinetic sculptor Tim Prentice looks back on his career and the influences that shaped him\, including his fascination with the wind; the artists Alexander Calder and George Rickey; his time at Yale studying with Joseph Albers; his father\, who was an architect of note and aspiring craftsperson; and his loss of vision to macular degeneration. In the film\, he talks about how these influences and his own preconceptions crowd around him when he’s in his studio\, and his attempt to be alone as he strives to create an “ideal” work that\, like nature\, expresses at once both chaos and order. The film was shot at his home and studio in Litchfield County\, Connecticut and contains footage from many of the large\, commissioned public works he has done over the decades. \nSeating is limited. NEW VENUE THIS YEAR due to early voting. \nFamilies come to Cornwall Village on Halloween Night for Trick or Treating at houses & trunks throughout the village. \nIf you don’t live in the village and want to hand out candy\, trunk or treaters are welcome. Email park.recreation@cornwallct.gov or call/text 860-480-0600 to sign up \nDinner at the UCC Parish House with homemade soups/chili\, salad\, veggie and fruit platters\, mac and cheese and corn dogs. \nCandy donations to help support the houses in the Village can be brought to CSS or Town Hall \nWe have moved our Chili Cook-off to the winter for a chance to gather with friends and warm up. For over 10 years Micki Nunn-Miller\, Cornwall UCC pastor\, has been leading groups of volunteers who travel to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota to work with the organization Re-Member and Oglala Lakota people. Micki\, along with Becky Hurlburt and Cay Hosterman will share their experiences volunteering on the reservation and information about the extraordinary people who live there. \nPlease register at cornwalllibrary.org.
