She was educated at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel\, Switzerland and has worked in the graphic design department of the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum. For the past several years\, she has taught 2D Design at Cooper Union and Drawing/Imaging at Parsons in New York City.

DESCRIPTION:“The Autobiography of James Mars\, a Slave Born and Sold in Connecticut” is a puppet piece created by Robert Bresnick and Leslie Weinberg. The words spoken by the narrator are an edited text of the first half of the Mars autobiography\, ending at the point at which James is sold and walks by himself\, aged 8\, to Mr. Munger’s farm. The performance uses a tabletop stage and projected and animated backgrounds and shadow play\, as well as collaged paper puppets manipulated by two puppeteers. Recommended for ages 9 and older. This event is free\, but space is limited to 45 attendees. Registration is required.

DESCRIPTION:September 7\, for 4 consecutive Wednesdays 3pm – 5pm.   \nWe tell each other stories every day about our experiences: childhood\, school\, work\, family\, travels\, joys\, sorrows\, or even what happened yesterday in the grocery store.  Led by Deb Devins\, a 4-week class on “Writing the Stories of Your Life” begins Wednesday\, September 7\, 3-5pm.  The class will use writing exercises\, photographs\, and other sources of inspiration to help you write about your life experiences.  Participants will share their work with the class for helpful and encouraging feedback\, whether you write for yourself or with a goal of publishing\, \nCovid protocol: The class will be held outside under the tent\, masks optional unless not vaccinated.  If we have to move inside\, masks are required for everyone attending \nClass size is limited to 8 people\, minimum 6. \nPlease register at cornwalllibrary.org \nThe fee is $40 for all 4 sessions
