They will lead a two-part drama workshop where children will learn to sign their dramatic parts as the Greek Chorus in the opening scene of The Myth of Persephone: How The Seasons Came to Be presented in both English and ASL. \nOn Sunday afternoon at 3:30 the drama group will perform for parents and the public as the Greek Chorus!  Masks and costumes are made by Ellen Moon and Robert Flannagan. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by trombonist and keyboardist Brian Bender. \nThis program was made possible by the Connecticut Office on the Arts and DECD (Department of Economic and Community Development) through an Artist Respond Grant which teaching artist Leslie Elias received to travel throughout the state providing this special drama workshop to various communities and populations.  \nFee for participants:  $30 for both sessions.  The performance is free.

DESCRIPTION:Elections will be held on Tuesday\, November 8\, at the Town Hall\, 24 Pine Street from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M. to cast votes for Governor\, Lieutenant Governor\, U.S. Senator\, Representative in Congress\, State Senator\, State Representative\, Secretary of the State\, Treasurer\, Comptroller\, Attorney General\, Judge of Probate and Registrars of Voters. \nThere will also be a question on the ballot for approval or disapproval of a proposed amendment to the Constitution of Connecticut. The ballot question will read “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting”? See the Town Clerk for the full text of the amendment. \nAbsentee ballots will be available after October 7 from the Town Clerk. Town Clerk office hours are  Monday — Thursday from 9 A.M. to noon and 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Absentee ballots can be issued for the following reasons: 1. Active service in the Armed Forces of the United States; 2. Absence from the town of residence; 3. Sickness; 4. Religious tenets forbidding secular activity on the day of such primary\, election or referendum; or 5. Duties as a primary\, election or referendum official at a polling place other than your own during all hours of voting. 6. Physical disability. Completed applications and completed ballots can be placed in the designated secure drop box outside the Town Clerk’s office at 26 Pine Street or can be mailed. Do not take your ballot to the polls on Election Day. Please don’t wait until the last minute to apply for your absentee ballot\, especially if there is mailing involved. The completed ballots must be returned by 8 P.M. on election day.

This will feature a slide lecture by Roxana Robinson entitled\, “Georgia O’Keeffe: Reading the Work as the Life.” Robinson will show works that illuminate the artist’s life and reveal the stylistic development of one of America’s greatest modernist painters. Robinson is the author of the biography\, “Georgia O’Keeffe: A Life.” A signed copy of her book will be included in the fee for in-person attendance. November 12 at 4:00. \nSo bring your friends\, feast on O’Keeffe’s ravishing work\, and stay for the festive reception. Enjoy birthday cake\, wine and conversation as you support the Cornwall Library and its Literary Programs. \nThe event will be both in-person and on zoom. It will not be recorded. The fee for in-person attendance (and a signed book) is $155. The fee for zoom is $50 (no book).
