SUMMARY:Little Guild for the Welfare of Animals Public Open House
DESCRIPTION:The Little Guild for the Welfare of Animals will host a public open house on Saturday\, May 9th\, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, celebrating the opening of its new animal shelter at 285 Sharon-Goshen Turnpike in West Cornwall. \n“Opening the doors to our new home marks an incredible moment for The Little Guild and everyone who believes in our mission. We are deeply grateful for our dedicated staff\, volunteers\, and supporters whose efforts made this possible. Our new facility will help us continue rescuing\, healing\, and finding loving homes for cats and dogs in need for generations to come\,” said Little Guild President Kelly Bozzuto. \nThe new purpose-built facility—designed by Silver\, Petrucelli & Associates and built by Burlington Construction—features quarantine areas\, noise mitigation\, dedicated adoption and socialization spaces\, and a large multi-purpose community room for clinics\, training\, education\, volunteer programs and community events. These improvements will reduce animal stress\, shorten length of stay\, and increase adoption capacity. \nFunded entirely through private donations and community foundations\, the building will be named in honor of Robert R. Rosenheim. “The Robert R. Rosenheim Foundation has been our partner from day one\,” said Executive Director Jenny Langendoerfer. “We are honored to carry forward Mr. Rosenheim’s legacy of love for animals.” During the build\, the Little Guild was operating at their temporary site at Foote Field on Furnace Brook Road in Cornwall Bridge\, CT. \nThe Little Guild is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1960. It is the largest animal shelter in Northwest Connecticut and boasts one of the highest save rates nationally for a no-kill shelter. Dedicated to rescuing\, healing and individually nurturing homeless dogs and cats and to matching those animals with caring homes in the community\, the Little Guild also provides programs that strengthen the bonds between pets and people\, and partners with local organizations to support pet owners in the community.
