SUMMARY:Deadline for Cornwall Microgrants for the Arts
DESCRIPTION:The Economic Development Commission of the town of Cornwall has allocated $3\,500 of the town’s American Rescue Plan funding to allow local artists to bring vitality to the community through microgrants. \nSeven grants of $500 will be awarded by random lottery to Cornwall artists. The funds\, which will be administered by the Northwest CT Arts Council\, will be available to full-time residents of Cornwall who can demonstrate an established artistic practice. \nThe grant funds can be used to help with any artistic endeavors\, but the finished work must be shared with the community\, either by exhibition\, writing in the Chronicle\, exposure to the public through a workshop or performance\, or any other suitable means. These are ARPA funds intended for artists who were negatively impacted by Covid and are in need. \nWinners will be contacted promptly by email and/or phone and will have a week to accept. \nNWCT Arts Council will begin accepting applications on January 30\, 2023. \nThe deadline to apply is March 15\, 2023. \nInterested parties can apply here: https://forms.gle/XaJfscJpA9Feqm3K9 \nThe mission of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council is to engage the public in building a strong and connected arts and culture community that is integral to the economic development and the collective well-being of the 25-town region it serves. Access to arts and culture is a universal human right\, meeting both a social and psychological need.
