DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Music Mountain\, The Cornwall Library is pleased to invite you to join us for a breathtaking afternoon concert with Simone Dinnerstein\, piano\, followed by a reception with the artist. \nThis Valentine’s Weekend event includes a simultaneous Children’s Program next door\, at the Library\, including plenty of staff to monitor children while parents attend the Simone Dinnerstein concert. Scroll down for more information. \nTICKETS: \n\n$50 for Adults;\n$25 for 19-40 year old/Student/Teacher/Veteran;\n$0 for Under 19 year old for Simone Dinnerstein Concert;\n$0 for Under 19 year old for Children’s Program at the Library (monitored\, next door).\n\nTIME: \nDoors Open at 2:30 PM. Simone Dinnerstein Concert at Town Hall begins promptly at 3:00 PM. Post-Concert Reception with the artist to follow immediately after the concert at approximately 4:30 PM at the Library. BACH 15 Inventions\, BWV 772-786 \nPhilip GLASS Etude No. 2 \nIntermission \nPhilip GLASS Etude No. 16 Franz SCHUBERT Piano Sonata in B Flat Major\, D. 960 \nReception with the Artist \nTHE ARTIST: \nSimone Dinnerstein is an American pianist with a distinctive musical voice. The Washington Post has called her “an artist of strikingly original ideas and irrefutable integrity.” She first came to wider public attention in 2007 through her recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations\, reflecting an aesthetic that was both deeply rooted in the score and profoundly idiosyncratic. She is\, wrote The New York Times\, “a unique voice in the forest of Bach interpretation.” \nSince that recording\, she has had a busy performing career. She has played with orchestras ranging from the New York Philharmonic and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra to the London Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Rai.
