SUMMARY:In the Founders' Footsteps: A Walk Through History with Adam Van Doren - Library
DESCRIPTION:Book talk and signing at 4 pm. The Cornwall Library is pleased to announce an upcoming book talk by artist\, author\, and Yale professor Adam Van Doren who will be discussing his book In the Founders’ Footsteps: Landmarks of the American Revolution (Godine)\, which incorporates his essays and paintings of 32 historic sites of the War of Independence. Historian Nathaniel Philbrick has written the preface.\nThe book has been awarded the 2022 Distinguished Book Award from the Society of Colonial Wars\, and has been praised by The New Criterion in its recent issue: “Van Doren’s watercolors give the book visual appeal\, and the window it opens on the lives of these places\, past and present\, makes it worth keeping around.” \nAfter the talk\, which begins at 4 pm\, Van Doren will have books available and will happily sign them to anyone who purchases a copy. Registration is required at cornwalllibrary.org. \nAlso\, Attendees may wish to purchase tickets to the Cornwall Historical Society’s summer party and auction at 7 Pine Street beginning at 5:30 pm.
